Window is Closing on Free Windows 10 Upgrade
June 28, 2016

Microsoft's offer to upgrade your Windows 7 or 8.1 device for free to Windows 10 will be ending soon. If you were planning on upgrading an eligible device at no cost, you have until July 29, 2016.

According to Microsoft, the download is around 3gb and will take about an hour to install on most devices. We recommend that you check your system's ability to upgrade using the Get Windows 10 application. Within the application, press the Menu icon in the top left, then click on "Check your PC". The screen that appears will provide the results from a basic capability check, and let you know if your device can be safely upgraded.

Still unsure if Windows 10 is right for you? For the first 30 days, you can revert back to your original version of Windows from Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. After 30 days, you can revert back using either a manufacturer provided factory reset or by using installation media (such as a CD-ROM or USB) and a product key.

More information can be found on the Windows 10 website here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows
