Android / Google Calendar Not Syncing
June 15, 2006

So you open up your calendar and suddenly realize that all your appointments you entered in on your computer last night to Google Calendar are no longer syncing with your Android phone.

Well, this exact scenario happened to me this past week. Like anyone else, I went to Google and started searching for an answer to my problem. And while I found many potential answers, they only seemed to solve half of the problem.

This tutorial was written for Samsung Epic 4G users, but this should be similar on all Android smart phones.
  1. From the home screen, tap your phone's Menu key.

  2. Select “Settings”

  3. Select “Applications”

  4. Select “Manage Applications”

  5. From the tabs at the top of the screen, select “All”

  6. Scroll down and select “Calendar”

  7. Select “Clear data”, then “Force stop”

  8. Press your phone's back button, and then go back to step #6. Instead of Calendar, Select “Calendar Storage”, then repeat step #7.

  9. Press your phone's back button, and then go back to step #6. Instead of Calendar Storage, select “Calendar Sync Adapter”, then repeat step #7. If you do not have “Calendar Sync Adapter” listed, continue on to step 10

  10. Press your phone's Home button.

  11. Select “Applications”

  12. Select “Calendar”

  13. Press your phone's Menu button

  14. Select “Settings”

  15. Select “Calendar sync”

  16. Under Manage Accounts, select the account you'd like to sync.

  17. Select “Sync Calendar”

This worked perfectly for me following similar guides. However, most people were able to get their phones to sync properly after clearing data from “Calendar” only. My phone would not sync until I cleared data from all 3 applications (Calendar, Calendar Storage, and Calendar Sync Adapter).
